Darn .. it feels like our dogs are going to put us in the poor house. Speck is taking two heart meds now and one of them is fairly expensive. I had taken Rita to the vet last Thursday because her eyes were mattering up and she wasn’t able to keep them open. The vet had given me some ointment to put in them but wanted to see her back in a week. I thought that was kinda weird for what I thought was something like allergies in her eyes but it was the first time we saw him and I wondered if he just wanted to see if I would follow up like he asked me to do. Of course, I did take her back today. When he examined her today, he told me that he was afraid of this last week but wanted to use the ointment for a week to clear up the infection in her eyes . . she has glaucoma in her right eye.
The vet gave her two shots and oral meds and he’ll check her eye when she goes back toward the end of this month for her rattlesnake vaccine booster.
She’s only 4 years old . . seems kinda young to have glaucoma but the vet said it could have been caused by an injury to the eye and who knows what happened to her before we got her. He thinks we’ve caught it early and it can be controlled with medication and hopefully, the eye will not get worse.
I’m glad she showed up at our house where we can take good care of her.

Wow. I would never have thought that in a dog so young, either. I hope the medication will do the trick.

Have you checked the prices of the dogs meds at sam’s. You don’t have to be a member to get medicine and they say they have dog medicines. Double check though before going.
