Our little Filipino restaurant, Fiesta Filipino, now has bubble tea and bubble smoothies.
The owner had told us he was going to start selling bubble tea and smoothies and I had seen on Facebook where they had them. I went to town last week and running by there was on my list but I ran out of time and didn’t get to go so yesterday after our knitting group, I ran by there. I got an Almond tea and it was delicious. Now I’m thinking of a reason I can go back to town today and get another one but I won’t .. probably. I told him I would bring him some lemongrass from my plant. That sounds like a good excuse to run to town, don’t you think?

There’s a bubble tea place near me but I’ve never been in there. Just didn’t sound appealing. Still not sure I’ll try it cuz you like cotton candy blizzards and YUCK, I don’t! HA

The way I look at it . . $3 or $4 is a small price to pay to try something new. You may not like, you may love it but you’ll never know until you try it and I want to try everything I can . . at least once. To me, life is too short to avoid things just in case I don’t like them.

I agree with Sherrill! ?

Lemongrass is a great reason to run into town. Pardon my ignorance, but what is bubble tea?

I learn so many things by reading your blog! I had to use use “google” to see what you were talking about and there are all sorts of recipes on there.

I just had my first bubble tea last month with my niece. It was ok and she was excited to show me something new

I LOVE bubble tea too. Had my first one at least 10 years ago. The bubble is actually large tapioca pearls. We just moved and there is a place close to us that has it. Any excuse, I mean chance to go there I do.

I’d never heard of it so had to look it up. I don’t like tapioca in any form but I did learn something new – there is a Tea Bar not far from work which I never knew existed (where they have Bubble Tea). I may have to go check it out one of these days since it’s on a street I seldom go down. Good thing I looked up Bubble Tea or I might be missing out on some other great tea drinks. 🙂

Lemongrass sounds like a perfect reason to go into town to me! I’ve never had Bubble Tea but I’m always up to trying something new especially if it’s an “iced” anything, and I love Tapioca too. One of my daughters introduced me to Starbucks a few years ago and it was love at 1st sip of a double Carmel Frap. Unfortunately I have to go all the way into town to get one. However they are building one out here about 8 minutes from me! I’ve already informed my son and daughter in law that they will be stopping on their way to our house every time they come for a visit. I’m just so tickled they have already broken ground for it!!

The Thai restaurants that we frequent (in S. Calif.) call the 1/2″ tapioca pearls “boba”. Here, I think the recipe uses strong black tea sweetened with coconut milk. It has a smooth, strong sweet flavor, similar to a SB Frappecino, but without the ice. Yummy! $3.50 w/boba. Easy to make at home but high calories.
