No one is a perfect parent so I’m not saying Chad & Nicole are perfect parents but I love how they’re raising Addie. I love variety of experiences she gets.
She loves going camping. Chad said he isn’t sure if she loves the camp fire, sleeping in the tent or what but she loves it.
Before their last camping trip, Addie got a new backpack and way before it was time to leave, she was packed and ready. George has been through a lot with that girl and he is never far from her.
Nicole sent me this picture while they were away.
I looked at Addie’s face and she doesn’t look happy. I’m betting she’s mad as a hornet because she wanted her own horse! Who ever heard of a 4 year old having to ride with her mother? 🙂
One thing for sure . . they don’t need to bother packing a brush or a comb for her. I don’t think she (or they) ever combs her hair! Oh, well . . my mail lady would tell you the same thing about me.

Cute family picture, and I’m betting that you are right about Addie wanting her own horse. She seems to be very independent, which I think is another good thing when raising children. I grew up hunting and fishing with my grandparents, camping with my parents, and some of the stories that you post about Addie remind me of my childhood. It was so wonderful to grow up learning about catching your dinner, respecting nature, and loving the outdoors.

They are doing a great job parenting! She is learning so much about the outdoors! Too many people let their children sit inside and play video games or watch tv all day! Addie is too cute and she looks tall for her age!

Great picture of the family on horses. I have a suspicion you are right about why she’s not so happy.

If she is anything like my 4yo grand daughter she hates having her hair washed or brushes/combed. We have grandkids every other weekend and her aunt (my daughter) is the only one who can touch her hair and then only with lots of complaints. Problem is she has thick, gorgeous, curly hair.
Love reading about your exploits through your blog.

That is a great picture of the family. I too hated having my hair combed or brushed when I was young because it was always full of tangles and it really hurt when Grandma brushed or tried to comb it! It is naturally frizzy and curly (still is) but my scalp is a whole lot tougher now! I think exposing kids to all the fun outdoor adventures is a wonderful thing and will ensure that her life skills will be so much better than those who are not able to do these things. I still love to fish and clean what I catch, go camping (although the ground can be a touch hard these days) and eat outside by a campfire. My DH is not so thrilled and able to maneuver it much so we don’t get to go now.
