Mondays are always so busy. I think that my inner self believes if I get a whole lot done on Monday, I can slack the rest of the week.
When I fixed the lamb chops on Sunday, I fixed enough for a second meal so we had that for lunch. I made some zucchini and mayflower beans so lunch was a breeze . . and delicious.
I canned 4 pints of snap beans, 5 pints of anasazi beans and 5 quarts of zucchini pickles.
I also shredded enough zucchini that I ended up with 16 – 2 cup bags for making zucchini bread after the zucchini is gone.
I picked more beans and then Vince and I shelled them all except for the snap beans. I need to get those done tomorrow and canned on Wednesday.
Sprayed the squash with neem oil. The squash bugs are about to get the best of it .. and I won’t be sad to see it go.
More nest shuffling in the coop. I’m so frustrated with that little chicken.
We were going to skip dinner tonight and just have some fruit but the more I looked at the tomatoes from the garden, the more I wanted a BLT so I fixed bacon and we had a sandwich and some strawberries for dinner.
We’re both tired . . can’t remember the last time we were in bed before 10:30 but that’s what’s happening tonight.
Goodnight, blog friends!

I’ve got 24 baby tomatoes! Whats a better saying than that? 24 tomato starts? 24 fruits on my tomatoes? I’ve also got at least 3 zucchini and blooms or most everything else. I planted on May 12/13. I am using Neem spray once a week for aphids on my tomatoes. I didn’t spray last night though it was my night to. I’m hoping lady bugs come in and eat them and am thinking about ordering lady bugs. Still haven’t made any decisions on canning. Rest today!

None of my business, I know, but why do you put up with that nest-shifting hen? Stick her and a few eggs in a shed by herself until either they hatch or she decides to not be broody any more. It’s what my mom always did. Your garden sounds wonderful. I wonder if ours will ever get the chance to produce. We’re in a possible severe weather area again this afternoon and tonight.
