Chad must have gotten his way with words from Vince. Yesterday we were talking and I was telling him that I’m not planning any trips anywhere til I get my teeth issue resolved. Apparently, he was thinking I was putting it off because of the cost.
Me: I’m not planning any trips until I get my teeth right. I go back to the endodontist in San Angelo towards the end of June.
Chad: Mom, I know you can afford to get your teeth fixed.
Me: It isn’t a matter of $$, it’s getting to see the endodontist. I saw him in May and he is going to re-do the root canals but I had to wait 5 weeks before he has an opening.
Chad: At this point, I’d be tempted to get them pulled.
Me: I’ve thought about it but it’s two teeth and if I get those pulled and then later have a problem and have to get two more pulled, then I’m missing four teeth.
Chad: Yes, I guess for your age, it’s pretty good to still have all your teeth.
My age! What? He must think I’m really old. I guess I am! It seems between Chad and the little boy at Sam’s Club, everyone is trying to tell me I’m old.

When I was 40, I had a dr tell me to take care of my self at my advanced age ?? huh ..and he was younger than I.
When I was 50, I stopped dying my hair as everyone thought the silver grey of my hair is beautiful.. huh…They are younger than I.
Now that I am approaching my 60’s what will they tell me next? I am too old? I am too frail? A friend who was in her 80’s said she was never allowed to speak her mind when she was younger, she said try and stop me now !! She tells it like it is now …
All the wonderful things to think about so I can have a retort for them; as I never did before ! hahahahahaha

Sometimes those words just don’t come across as they were meant to. Forgive the poor child. When I turned 60 several years ago my best friend who is four years older than I am told me to remember “today’s 60 is actually the new 50. Hopefully, 70 will become the new 50 too!

My grandson told me the other day I needed to be careful because I was getting old and fragile. I guess at & to him I am old but I don’t feel old….most days anyway. And I sure don’t feel fragile!
