Any trip to Walmart around the first of the month is always crazy but things were just a bit crazier than normal today. “Mr. Cannot Stay At Home For A Whole Weekend” had to go out. The only thing I knew that he had to have was orange juice and somehow, we ended up not even getting that. Oh, he needed bananas and he got those.
When he told me we were going to Walmart, halfway there, I wanted to say “I’ll just sit in the car” but I figured I needed a few things .. might as well get them and not have to go to town later in the week.
We walked in and there were no carts. Not one! Vince went back to the parking lot and got several and brought them in.
Then I got over to the produce section. No plastic bags. Not one! They had some huge plastic bags sitting here and there. When I say huge, I mean like almost as big as the kitchen trash bags! It was so funny to see people putting one bell pepper or one avocado in those bags.
The wildest thing . . Vince and I had split up. I had everything on my list and had gone over to get bread and then I spotted Vince at the back of the produce section and I could hear people screaming. I figured it was someone screaming at their child and then I saw people scattering and someone was screaming very bad words. I realized there was fixing to be a fight! Vince was on one side of it and I was on the other but I was not going towards him and passing through that altercation! I grabbed my phone to call 911 and saw several other people doing the same thing and then saw some guy who was either an off duty police officer or firemen and he grabbed a hand held radio off his belt and was getting ready to use that. I don’t know if he did or if the two just went their separate ways but there was no fight. Vince said it started at the kiosk where someone was handing out samples. Someone apparently reached in front of someone else. Who knows. Good grief . . what is this world coming to?
Here’s a text conversation I was having while shopping.
I guess I should have known it was going to be a crazy trip when I looked at my shopping list.
“Bromine And Cheese”? I think that was supposed to be Pimento & Cheese or cream cheese. I bought both . . just in case. I seriously do not think I want bromine & cheese! I seriously don’t think I want to go to Walmart after 9 a.m. ever again. If I get in and out before 9, I feel a whole lot better about my trip.
One thing for sure – I am very happy to be home!

You do lead an exciting life. I was wondering do you have the 6 qt Insta pot or the 8 qt. It’s only my husband and I but I read you should go for the bigger one but wondered if I really need to or it was just propaganda. Since it’s just you and Vince I considered you to be the person to ask, hope that’s ok.

I bought one at Christmas, and I bought the 8qt and am VERY happy I did (it’s just two in my house as well). You can cook as little or as much in it, but there are two main reasons I bought the larger one: I make my own yogurt and the 8 at is just perfect for a two week supply (1 gal of milk), and it is easier/better to sauté in the bigger one….

I never go to WM during the weekend and I have 3 huge WM super centers within 20 minutes of me. Nothing I need that bad that can’t wait til a weekday. That scenario is ridiculous!

I don’t go to Walmart more than 2-3 times a year, and that’s only to the small grocery they built on a corner near me. There is ONE thing I can get there and nowhere else, and most of the year, I do without it. I know you don’t have many options but your post, while funny, points up exactly why I don’t go. LOL

Watch out for the Walmartians !!!
I saw one at our Walmart and couldn’t believe my eyes. My hubs: Honey, look there is a Walmartian in the next aisle. Me: No way Hubs: yes way , so I walked over and sure enough- he/she even had its posse with it.
I told the hubs lets get the shopping done and out of here quickly !
