Way back in 2010, I made a Clapotis. I think I read on the blog post that I started it in March and finished it in November.
I just finished another one. I started it on May 19 and finished it on May 29 . . that’s about 11 days of lots of knitting!
I guess I shouldn’t say it’s finished because I still have to unravel the dropped stitches. The yarn has some silk in it and these stitches want to hang on tight. The first one I made was mostly (maybe all) cotton yarn and those stitches dropped right down.
It’s a little unnerving dropping stitches on purpose!
The pattern, while not a drop dead gorgeous shawl/wrap, is pretty enough and it’s so very easy. It’s the kind of thing you’re able to do without looking at the pattern after a few repeats.
I needed something warm and neutral to wear to our knitting group meetings. The place we have them is sometimes freezing . . like so cold my teeth are chattering. This will be the perfect thing to keep in the car and take in to a cold restaurant, doctor’s office or knitting meeting.
Once I get all the stitches unraveled back and block it, I’ll post a better photo.

I love my Clapotis. I made it extra large (wider and longer) with 2 skeins of BMFA’s STR and I get so many comments on it. I really should give the pattern another go. Thanks for the reminder,

That pattern has been on my to-do list for years! Some day!
