A while back, years ago in fact, I bought several plastic rectangular cupcake or cake carriers for storing and carrying quilting supplies. They’re the kind of things that you just can’t have too many of them. They had gotten a bit pricey, even at Walmart. While in Aldi last week, I came across a display of them and picked up several.
These are just perfect for knitting projects. I like that the lids are transparent enough that I can look at them and see what project is in them without having to open them. I love that they stack. I have a perfect corner for them in an extra bedroom. I wish I had gotten more of them.
They were only $3.99 each. When I showed them to Vince, he said “You should have gotten more!” I knew he would say that. When we were at Aldi next, I looked for them but they were all gone. Who knows if they’ll restock them. I’ve never seen them before and Aldi has a habit of having something once and then either never having it again or not having it for months and months. I’m happy to have six of them. Maybe instead of more containers, I need less yarn projects!

I wish I had seen those at our Aldi last week. They’d be great for a lot of things – like embroidery projects and EPP, too! I think they get a good buy on something and then they never get such a buy again, so we don’t see it again. Last year, they had little window air conditioners for about $150 and I didn’t buy one. This year, they didn’t have them. I bought my six quart cast aluminum lidded pot there, and I’ve never seen them again. Definitely buy when you see on that aisle!

Aldi here seems to have an annual calendar of their specials. But there’s no guarantee that everything will come back 12 months later.
I have a really nice trolley in my sewing room that I got there late last year. Wish I had bought two! Just hoping they come around again later this year. But if they do, they are likely to be different colours next time.
