The storm last week did a job on our driveway. We had places that were washed out and places that had very deep ruts from the rushing water. Both our vehicles are four wheel drive but anyone coming over here in a small vehicle might have had trouble.
Vince got the tractor out and we keep a couple of rock piles for filling in holes.
There he is . . down at the first curve. He graded all the way down to the culvert . . and I know you have no idea where that is but it’s probably a bit more than halfway to the highway. That has been needing to be done so I’m glad the wash outs convinced him to do that.
Most of you probably have a nice concrete or brick walkway to your house. Not here . . we have rocks! They had washed out so he brought more rock there and spread it. It’s a good think I looked where my feet were walking! I was watching Vince on the tractor and hadn’t even noticed he had dumped a trip hazard along the walkway and saw the rock piles just as I was about to break my neck!
One last small load of rocks to fix the area on the front left where water kinda messed it up and the driveway is done!
Not anything that has to be fixed probably but behind an empty chicken coop, where the water went racing through, it cut a trench!
The only thing left to be fixed is something we discovered after the storm but not caused by the storm. We can get online and see what each of solar panels is doing as far as productivity so we were anxious to check them Saturday morning after Friday night’s hail storm. There was nothing being reported but outside we could see the meter from the solar panels turning so we knew they were producing. But the last day anything had been recorded was towards the end of April. Vince went to the control panel and messed with a few things, got an error message, called the solar people Monday and they can’t get here til a week from tomorrow. They have to come out of Austin. It’s all warranty work and since the panels are producing, we don’t mind the wait. I hate that they have to drive all the way from Austin but they have only been back once for a minor problem and it’s been over 3 years since the panels were installed.
When we first got the solar panels, we both checked the production a dozen times a day and now, three years later, it’s been over a month and neither of us had looked at our energy portal.
As long as the electric company owes us money, I’m happy with those solar panels! 🙂

Can’t beat the fact that the electric company owes you money!! Wish I had bills like that! 🙂

Love your long driveway! Wish we were hidden back in trees…out of sight, out of mind….lol
