On our very first trip to San Angelo, not long after we moved here, I asked a quilting friend who lives there for a restaurant recommendation and she suggested Armanta’s Mexican restaurant. We fell in love! I love Mexican food. Of course, Vince’s favorite ethnic food is Italian and I don’t mind it so long as I don’t have to eat red sauce but I’ll eat most any Mexican dish . . except a few of the weird ingredient dishes. Don’t want guts and innards!
Armenta’s has daily specials and Tuesday and Wednesdays are my favorites. On Tuesdays they have an enchilada dish that has a creamy guacamole sauce and on Wednesdays, it’s enchiladas with a poblano pepper sauce. They still add avocados so I love it!

Vince and I always split a dessert and yesterday it was tres leches cake.

I’m thinking . . I could make something similar to tres leches cake and add some peaches! Wouldn’t that be yummy with that milk poured over the cake? Oh . . why did I have to think of that?
I do not love going to the endodontist in San Angelo, which is about 2.5 hours from here, but I do love that with each trip to see him, I get to eat at Armenta’s.

I’ll have to surprise my best friend (who lives in San Angelo) this summer when she meets up with us for a few days of vacation by asking if she likes the food at Atlanta’s. LOL

That enchilada plate does look yummy. I love Mexican food and could exist solely on it, but I do not like the Mexican red sauce. I only like green sauce. (I do, however love Italian red sauce). I get my fair share of wonderful Mexican food here in Southern California. Glad you get some good there.
