Some days I feel so fickle. Did I ever tell you that once upon a time, I was in the camp that believed quilts were second rate if they were machine pieced and it was just downright wrong to machine quilt them? Glad I saw the light and left that way of thinking behind!
There was also a time when I was able to use fabrics that weren’t solid or tone on tone! OK. You all agree that I’m a fickle person! 🙂
Once it became popular to add beads to knitted items, or I should say . . when I realized it was popular . . I thought it was kinda over the top and thought it took away from the knitted item. I still see beaded items that make me think . . why? After having used beads a few times on this shawl and these socks, I’m wanting to put beads on everything.
I couldn’t get a decent picture but I’m using beads on the Fairyhill project and I’m loving them.
All I want to do is sit and knit but . . the garden calls. Knitting can wait and the garden can’t but I am determined to have this one finished by the end of the month.

After putting the beads on can your stuff be washed in washing machine and put in dryer? Just wondering. I love bling so go for the beads I say. Love the colors on this piece too.

I opted for no beads in fairy hill. Mostly because I didn’t have any that matched my yarn. In the past when I’ve used them, the directions have called for stringing them all on the working yarn first then pulling one up as needed. I like the crochet hook method much better. The beads lay nicely and the yard doesn’t get tangled and frayed. I finished row 44 last night, yay!
