Another thing Vince did this weekend was re-do all my crazy mess of water hoses/sprinklers in the bean area.
We had been using overhead sprinklers but that’s not a great idea with beans, and it’s been super windy this spring and getting water in the right spaces hasn’t been happening. Watering directly at ground level and not watering the pathways might help a bit with weed control too.
We made good progress in the garden this weekend.

I only have one small box vegetable garden so far. It’s a start. The wind has been giving my plants a hard time here also.

That’s one of the reasons we gave up with the overhead sprinklers. The water is ending up 2 counties down. Honestly, I walk out the back door and can feel drops from the garden sprinkler 250′ away. I’ve never seen so much wind day after day. It also dries out everything. I fill my bird bath and within a few hours, it’s empty again. We need rain and less wind!

Healthy looking garden!

That reminds me that I need to get the drip hoses out…

Your garden where the beans are looks beautiful. Oh how I wish this would have been what my garden looked like all summer, but the weeds just had to make their appearances in between the rows. I’m assuming that Vince does some tilling in there for you? It will be so fun to harvest the beans when it’s time,

I need to replace all the ground hoses in the garden as they are cracked after 4 years. Which I consider good and long lasting hoses for that long. We haven’t planted the veggie garden yet as its still snowing in the mountains and low temperatures (so much for a high desert plain area.hahaha). I am hoping to get the soil mixed in and the onions planted this weekend. We have the pump hooked up for the water (as we get river or ditch water how ever its best to explain)here and the sprinklers are working good.
I agree the winds have been terrible this year and I am sure there is much more wind to come.
