I’ve learned to not count my chickens before they hatch .. and to not expect fruit til it’s actually ripe but from the looks of things, we’re going to have a ton of peaches.
We have four trees and all are loaded with little peaches.
Some of the peaches are starting to get big. They grow so quickly at this point.
There are also apples.
And tiny little persimmons.
There are crabapples and figs and jujube blossoms.
This little jujube tree amazes me. We got it probably 4 years ago as a bare root and it was maybe 18″ tall. It’s now probably 8 feet tall and looks like it’s going to be quite productive this year. The tiny little blossoms smell so good. I had forgotten that they smelled and as I got near the tree, I thought .. what is that smell? So sweet!
It may be a busy summer for me and I hope by the time the fruit trees and garden are done, every Mason jar we have will be full.

Oh, wow! Peach trees! You are so lucky. I bet fresh peaches right off the tree taste so much different than those one buys at the grocery store. I’ve actually stopped buying peaches as they are not juicy and are so mealy. Except for the Elbertas which I love to eat. Two years ago all the apple blossoms on our 11 trees froze so we only got 6 apples (well only 5 as a wild turkey got one) but last fall we had a bumper crop and harvested over 10,000 pounds of apples. In our winter home, we have an orange tree which is wonderful to go out and pick just enough for fresh squeezed juice each morning. May your pie plates be full as well as your mason jars.

yum! lots of homemade peach pies, ice cream, cobblers, jam…..I’m wondering what variety of peaches you have that produce in the Brownwood area? We’re in the Dallas area and have several trees but have never had much success–if the blooms make it without freezing, the birds or worms get them. I think ours are freestone varieties.
