There was a time when I fixed breakfast, lunch and dinner every day and they were often big meals. I almost feel guilty with how little cooking I’m doing these days. Yesterday we went out for breakfast and it was a late breakfast. Then we had Thai take out for dinner.
This morning I had to make bread. We had enough bread to make it through Monday but I never like to wait to the last minute. I had started the sponge yesterday and I wanted to make two smaller loaves and try something different with one of them – experiment a little.
I mixed up the first one and was thinking about what to do with the experimental loaf. I was thinking of what I have lots of that I need to use . .
Frozen figs which really need to be used because we’ll have more coming in soon; rosemary and why not throw in bacon since I was fixing that for breakfast.
I was planning to fix eggs, bacon and toast and Vince said “Can we have biscuits and grits?” Sure . . at your service, my dear! He wanted scrambled eggs but I had fried eggs . . dogs get the whites from my eggs. Vince got his scrambled eggs, grits and biscuits.
After breakfast I got the bread ready for the first rising.
Then it was crash time. I woke up with a splitting headache. Still taking steroids and antibiotics for my teeth and that’s about to get the best of me. I haven’t slept more than 2 or 3 hours a night for the past 3 nights. I’m blaming the meds but it could be the new knitting pattern and the thoughts of the new cover stitch machine that have kept me awake. Anyway, I needed sleep and as soon as the bread was ready to rise, I went to bed and took a quick nap.
Then back up . . bread baked, along with a birthday cake.
Dinner cooked!
Now hopefully I can get in an hour or so of knitting before bed time.

Are you KIDDING?!! So little cooking?! Dang, every time you mention cooking, it’s like a LOT of cooking! I NEVER mention cooking at all on my blog (probably because I never do it! LOL). You cook a lot, Judy, give yourself some credit. HA
