My friend and I are trying to sew. Boots goes between our sewing machines, on the ironing table, on the cutting table . . where ever we are, whatever we’re trying to do, Boots is right there.
This morning, I said to him “Boots, I cannot sew with your paws so close to my needle.”
My friend then said “Boots, I cannot sew with your tail so close to my needle!”
At the rate he’s going, he’s risking getting a needle in his paw and his tail at the same time!
When he wasn’t sitting on the sewing machines, or the cutting table, or the ironing table, he was messing with my shoe laces so every time I got up to do something, I had to re-tie one or both shoes.
Some days, he’s just in our way every minute that we’re in the sewing room. Some days he goes off and entertains himself.

It’s a good thing he lets you along SOMEtimes! That’s such a cute picture of him framed by the machine.

Today is my birthday and I got the present of a Boots story. Such a precious quilty cat.

That is what my foster cat used to do … He would sit for hours and watch me sew then he would jump up on the ironing board to help me iron. But he stayed back from the sewing machine when it got one of his claws (thank goodness it was his foot) and it sewed it to the material. So needless to say only once and he learned his lesson. Then he would get mad at the machine and go lay in the trash can where I would throw scraps upon him all the time and he would come out when the dog came in and attack her full of scraps …

I’m constantly having to move one of my cats, Fiona, off my Sew Steady table or quilt or block, so I can sew. The other two don’t care much about sewing.
Dar in MO says
He is so darn cute. I’d love for a kitty to keep me company in my sewing room. The two cats we had for many years never did jump up on any of my sewing tables or machines. Guess they were not quilty cats! Of course, they were feral cats and full grown when we got them.

Boots is such a cute cat especially so in that picture. Picasso plays the same games but more alarmingly likes to try and catch the needle. I give up and give him hugs and attention after which he either goes out or falls asleep.
Lynne in Hawaii says
Open the closet with the batting. He’ll climb to the highest point and curl up and go to sleep…maybe?
