Sometimes I have to laugh at myself. When I buy bread bags, I buy a lot of them and then I don’t need more bread bags for years! I can’t remember the last time I ordered bread bags . . while we were in MO for sure so it’s been at least 5-1/2 years.
But, I ran out of bread bags. All the bags I can buy locally aren’t big enough for my bread. I had been re-using the same bag through several loaves of bread. I could see us getting some horrible disease and me having to admit to the doctor that I had been re-using the bread bags!
The other night I made this bread and it wasn’t cool enough to put in the bag so I waited for the oven to cool down, and stuck the bread back in the oven for the night. It was late and I was ready for bed.
The next morning UPS came driving up and I couldn’t remember what I had ordered. When I opened the box, I was so excited .. bread bags!
300 bread bags. I should be set for a while. I was so happy to get those bread bags!
Isn’t it funny to get so excited over something like that?

Not at all. Our favorite bread recipe (so far) makes 5 loaves. Years ago I found some long (tall) Rubbermaid bread keepers – they came with bread mix in them – anyway, they are perfect for freezing bread – you never even know it has been frozen. I don’t know what I will do when those wear out. I have not seen them on the shelves since. If I send bread home with someone I slice a piece off the end (or slice the whole thing if they want) put the end on the side of the loaf, and it will fit in a gallon Ziploc. Makes me want to make bread!! Trying to reduce a little – LOL!!

Have you ever made cloth bread bags?

I have also made them when giving someone a loaf of bread. They are so quick and easy to make and I have a ready supply of fabric!

Mmmm must make some bread. I often get excited over the most ordinary things being delivered. If you really need something it’s exciting when it arrives.
