A Ride Through The Woods

During the middle of working our tails off Saturday, Vince and I decided to take a ride around our land. He had been doing some cleaning and wanted to show me what he had done.

We don’t have the prettiest land in the country – this area is dry, brown and a bit scrubby but when it’s yours . . it’s the prettiest land ever!

In the picture above, the implement shed is on the right and just past that is the garden. I love the sky in this picture. On past the garden, you might be able to see part of our driveway.

There’s the driveway. It makes another curve and heads on out to the highway.

Vince keeps trails cut here and there .. they don’t really go anywhere but when we want to go out and ride around, at least we have a path.

This is the path down the far south side. The property across this fence belongs to someone else.

This is a spot where we sometimes park and have a glass of wine. If I had been building our house, I would have built it right there in that clearing.

Spring is so pretty here. We still talk about how lucky we were to find this place.

Now you know where I live and where I go when I feel the need to get away and hang out with nature for a little while.

As much as I talk about going back to MO, I don’t know that we’ll ever leave this place. It has pretty much everything we wanted for so long and we’d never put this much work into another place. This may just be “home, sweet home” for the duration . . and I’m pretty much ok with that . . at least for today.  🙂
