Last night we were in town and before getting to our destination, I needed to run by Walmart and Vince needed to go to Aldi.
These birds were everywhere!
Maybe they’re out like that every night. We’re rarely out in the evenings. It seemed weird. When something scared them and they flew, all you cold see was birds!
Maybe we should get out more. 🙂

We have birds like this lined up on the telephone lines around my house every night. It reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock’s the birds. I posted a short video of them a few weeks ago on my Facebook page!
JudyL says
I’m surprised we don’t have them out here but maybe they like it in town better than out in the country where it gets so dark at night. I’m just guessing . .
Charlene says
I wonder what music they were making?

Red wing blackbirds are heading to summer nesting areas. My front yard some times covered. They can wipe out a 2 qt feeder in a day. But they do have a beautiful song.

I’ve always seen the birds like this here. I thought it was like that everywhere.

Wow! Is that $1.95 for regular gas??? We’re paying anywhere from $2.45 to /$2.55 a gallon right now. Of course, I DO live in PA, where we had the highest tax on gasoline of any state in the union….and that was BEFORE the governor decided to raise them again!!! I like your gas prices!!!
JudyL says
Yep . . regular unleaded. And that’s up from what it has been.

I’ve noticed that you label this kind of post ‘worthless chatter’. Would you consider changing that? It’s not worthless. It may be chatter about inconsequential things but they are often things that have caused you to stop and reflect and appreciate and think. And then you’ve shared them with us. Not worthless at all.
JudyL says
In my opinion, it becomes “worthless” chatter when I’m just writing things that no one will ever go back and search for, and probably never use. That category is for blog posts that contain no useful information – no recipe, no pattern, no tips about anything. It’s for those topics that don’t fit under any of the more “useful” categories.

When I saw the picture the first thing I thought of was “Shades of Alfred Hitchcock” and I see I wasn’t the only one.

They are Grackles. They do this seasonally. They were on the freeway shoulder here on Thursday. It was crazy
JudyL says
Thank you! I figured someone would know what they were.
diana in RR, TX says
Grackles and starlings the bane if the shopping centers evetywhere.
JudyL says
Maybe they just come out in the evening and I’m never out in the evening?? Or, maybe I just go out so rarely that I never have noticed them before.

Is that a flying cowgirl in front of Bridgestone Tires? Could my eyes be deceiving me?
JudyL says
It’s actually a cowboy with an apron (I think) for our local BBQ/cafeteria place which is across the street from Bridgestone. It isn’t your eyes! 🙂
LK Smith says
That sign is picture worthy. Before you know it, it will be taken down or destroyed like so many interesting things of the past.

I don’t get out at night much so I was fascinated at all the birds on the wires twice just last week and of course husband has to say so off handedly “oh they are there every night on my way home from work. Smart butt lol.
