Some days things just don’t go the way you want them to go. Heck, some Quiltathons don’t go the way you want them to go. This morning I was sitting here waiting for it to get daylight so I could let the chickens out and then go start quilting. Then I remembered that I really need to get this tooth fixed. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since the filling fell out of the root canal. I was hoping the local dentist could get me in this week but that didn’t seem to be going to happen so I decided to call the endodontist in San Angelo who did the root canal. The could see me on the 20th but I was so hoping the local dentist could do it and I wouldn’t have to drive 5 hours roundtrip. I called the dentist and the scheduling lady said she would see what she could do and call me back. The cell phone sometimes works in the sewing room and sometimes doesn’t and with the quilting machine running, I for sure wouldn’t hear it so I stayed in the house and knitted til she called and by the time she called (YES! They can see me next week!), it was time for lunch.
By the time Vince went back to work, I was waiting for the mail lady to call me so I could run Addie’s Valentine’s package up to the highway and meet her. By the time she called and I got back to the house, it was after 2 p.m. and too late to start quilting because I wouldn’t be able to finish it today and didn’t want Boots on it. I made a few pinwheels for the Cabin in the Woods quilt.
And guess who decided to take off tomorrow! I couldn’t say “NO! It’s Quiltathon! You have to work!”
I always wondered how moms with small children can use the longarm. I can’t even use it when my husband is home! I’ll be able to sew tomorrow but I won’t try to use the longarm.
Hope everyone else is getting more accomplished than I am!

I can use my long arm, because it is at my dad’s house. Dad and his wife watch my 4 & 6 year old, while I quilt. They live 45 minutes from us, so I have to plan my quilting days. Tomorrow I am taking off the afternoon to quilt while the kids are in school. I usually have 2-4 quilts prepped and ready to quilt when I go there. I also plan to go out on the holiday – President’s Day to quilt for the day. Where there’s a will there is a way.

I wasn’t able to participate yesterday, but doing some today. Will there be another linky? Yesterday’s is closed. Thanks for the Quiltathon – got a lot done last month – no finish though – hope to do the same this month.

I won’t say I formally participated in the Quiltathon but I did get the borders put on one top and sewed the quarter blocks into half blocks for another top. Got about half those little quarter inch seams pressed open today before going to Grandson’s basketball game. Sometime I ask myself why I keep making quilts with such small blocks with so many seams coming together that they must be pressed open to minimize bulk. I do love them though when the quilts are finished.

Nope, haven’t touched my sewing in three days. Today was my Bible study group, then we decided to drive into town for lunch. Then I had to stop by Krogers for vegetables since I was in town and don’t have a garden yet. Then it was time to prep a dinner I didn’t like as much as I thought I would. Now I’m tired. There is always tomorrow!

By the way, glad you’re finally going to get in to the local dentist!

Me too! I’m so ready to get this over with. The crowns that started the issue were put on in March, 2016.

I was not able to participate until today; in addition I have broken my ankle since the last Quiltathon, so EVERYTHING is more difficult right now….the plan is to spend all day quilting today – let’s see how long that lasts!

I use my longarm when my 1 year old is asleep or when my husband has him occupied. Same with my domestic machine since he loves to come play with the pedal…
