After taking a picture of the one finished log cabin block yesterday, I began wondering if the outer blue was too dark.
This morning my friend was back over sewing with me and we decided a different blue would be better so I changed the darkest blue and finished the log cabin blocks.
All that’s left are the pinwheel blocks and assembling all the borders . . ALL the borders NINE borders. Well, heck .. when I looked at the drawing, I realize I haven’t made the snail’s trail blocks yet!
Not as far along as I thought I was!

You’re still doing great! I just sewed 80 blocks with all the fabric cut wrong (and don’t have enough fabric to reverse it), so I’m having to adjust the pattern just a wee bit!

I like the second blue you picked. The blue on the single one you showed yesterday seemed too bright compared to the other colors. The new blue fits in better. (Strictly in my opinion). I can’t wait to see the finished top. When you count borders, how do you count them. I was looking at the photo trying to count the 9 borders but I wasn’t sure exactly what counted as a border.

Love the snails trails in the last of the borders. Those blocks just add so much motion to your quilt. Not sure I could be successful in keeping my quilt top flat with 9 borders, but just love what you have projected here.

I like the blue you chose. The first one did seem a little off. I know they are a lot of work, but those borders are awesome. They really make the quilt.

MAN! When I get to the borders, I just slap on a couple of plain jane borders and call it good!! You’re fancy borders would probably send me over the edge by the time I got there.

Interesting that the entire block is brighter or duller appearing, depending on that outer blue!

What a difference the blue shades make – thanks for sharing that, it will be good to remember when I am doing something I am just not sure of a color ro if pulling out the stitches is worth it. Great job…
