The Find Your Fade pattern is currently one of the most active on Ravelry. Choosing the yearn is fun and one of those things that if I allow myself to keep pulling and re-arranging yarns, I’ll never get started knitting. With all the single skeins of sock yarn in my stash, I can see several of these in my future knitting plans.
Yesterday evening I went back over to the sewing room and told myself I wasn’t leaving til I chose the yarns for Find Your Fade.
I was pretty certain this was it but then made one last minute change and decided on this:
I’m still not 100% sure of those three on the left. I think there needs to be something between the dark green and the aqua. I have a dark brown but I want to use it for something else and I have some blues that might go better with the dark green. See . . I’m second guessing myself again!
Thinking that maybe if I’d wind it all up I’d stop re-thinking the process so I wound it all up and am even more convinced that dark green on the left doesn’t go. I’ll start with the yarn on the right and maybe by the time I get to the yarn on the left, the perfect choice will have jumped out and said “Pick Me!” or by that time, I will be so ready to be finished, I won’t care.

Looking good! My yarn finally arrived today after being lost in shipping for a couple days so I’m excited to get home and lay it all out next to each other to see how it looks.

Does one end point use less yarn than the other? Use the green for that one. I like it myself.

Start at the other end. When you get to the dark green, start it and if you don’t like it find something else. I’ve only chosen 4 yarns and one of them is 3 small skeins of a variegated and the others are semi-solids so I’m going to alternate the smaller skeins with the others and it will fade in and out of colors. The designer said do what you want, so that’s what I’m doing…I really want to use up some of my stash and it’s not very big!

After looking at the pattern, I agree that the dark green may not work, but I like carolyn’s suggestion to start it if nothing else pops out and then frog if it doesn’t work.
