I have absolutely no news to report. Can you believe it . . me with nothing to say? Any other day, I’d just not post but I figured if I only wrote one post today, after having the root canal yesterday, some of you would worry about me.
I’m fine . . it was a busy day of doing mundane chores. Laundry, ironing, cooking lunch this morning . . sewing with my friend this afternoon.
The most exciting news I can think of is that I have a broody hen sitting on eggs. It’s January . . not prime egg hatching time but . . it’s Texas and we don’t get much cold so I’m going to let her do it. I’m going to limit her to 5 eggs. I figure 3 of those may hatch, 2 will probably be roosters. So, if she keeps up, we should have baby chicks on or about February 1.

That’s exciting! I remember my grandmother’s chickens, never any chicks.? I tried having a few chickens when we moved back to the country, but the coyotes kept getting them.

I always say I love my dull, boring life. No drama, not a whole lot of “excitement” other than retirement. 😉
I have a broody hen too but I’m a mean mom and won’t let her sit on anything but golf balls. It’s too cold for baby chicks right now.
