New Blog Housekeeping

For the most part, I think the new blog is done. There may be a few issues we come across so if you notice anything wrong, please speak up. My favorite part of the new blog besides the colors and the logos is that the front page now shows a small blurb from the 6 most recent posts. If I’m posting about knitting and you are totally not interested in my knitting, you can skip right over that to the next post without having to scroll down to the bottom of that post to see what the next post is about.  Also, on the sidebar, I’ve added a box for the most recent posts and there are 12 posts listed there so if you’ve missed a couple of days of reading the blog (please don’t!), you can see what you’ve missed by glancing at those topics.

Another thing I want to point out is . . if you scroll all the way down to the bottom, you’ll see the most recent pinterest, facebook and instagram posts. I try to find at least one new thing every day on Pinterest but sometimes I get lost and find a dozen things on there.

  1. Hello – FYI, on your facebook section, I see double patchwork times and no picture. But, it may be that I am on Firefox and I may have some settings which impact how I see that section of the post. If I click on the photo icon, I do go to your facebook page. The Pinterest and Instagram sections look great.

    • That’s kinda weird. I don’t think I have Firefox on any of our computers to try to see what it looks like but maybe someone else with Firefox will see this and let us know. Sorry you’re having problems.

    • Thanks! It’s so hard for me to get a blog makeover because I don’t adjust well to change. Worse, the designer always says “What do you like?” I don’t know! “What do you want your new blog to look like?” I don’t know! But a good designer will work with me and get something I love.

  8. I am thinking the revamp has helped the speed with which I can access your blog, always a good thing. I’m not a real fan of a blog that I have to wait to come up and then I wait again in order to continue beyond the teaser. However, most of those blogs operate slowly. Your new look seems to work quite efficiently, no lag. Incidentally, I have Firefox and I was able to look at your FB posts also very efficiently. So, good job Judy. I like it.

  11. Looks great through feedly on my iPad – very clean and seems to load more quickly. The fb/pinterest/instagram links show at the very bottom, so I will have to remember to scroll down from time to time!

  12. I like the new blog. The only thing I would change is to add a way to move to the adjacent posts without having to go back to the first page, or to the calendar if the posts I missed were not on the opening page.

    Love your sesame your daily chats. Makes me feel like you’re a neighbor.

  13. I like the speed, but the side bar print is very tiny for my old eyes on my computer. I’ll just have to carry a big magnifying glass when I sign in. I favor high contrast print with background colors, but that’s just me. I will stilll follow you no matter what your blog looks like. 🙂

  14. Well I’m old and missed a couple of days due to a computer glich and just look. It looks great now if I can just learn the new stuff and where everything is. Thanks for keeping us on our toes. Now I’ve got to get busy finding the fun stuff.
