Noon Report – I’ve made one little 6″ tree block! 🙁 We had a late breakfast and I spent more time in the house this morning before coming over to the sewing room. I’ve cleaned a bit in one closet so I could put a few tubs in there and I’ve vacuumed and done other minor housekeeping chores. I’ll head back over to the house in a few minutes, put potatoes on to bake and get a green bean casserole going. Vince will grill steaks and we’ll have an early dinner/late lunch about 3 so he can watch football and I’ll come back to the sewing room.
So sorry . . I totally forgot the link box for today. Thanks for reminding me. It’s now at the bottom of this page:
Goodness, our first Quiltathon of 2017 is half over already! Time flies! Today my friend will probably not come over to sew with me so I’ll work on something besides the deer quilt since we’re working on that together.
Since taking this picture, I’ve made 5 more tree blocks so I only need to make 3 and the trees will be done. Once I finish those three, I’ll start making the pinwheel blocks.
Meals are ready. My biggest challenge today: Managing to stay home and not let Vince talk me into going to town. Wish me luck! 🙂

I can’t find a link up for today, and the one on Day 1 is closed – did I miss something? or did I mis-read?

Lock that door! ?
Judy Laquidara says
I giggled out loud thinking about him coming over here and finding the door locked. I’m 100% sure we don’t have a clue where there’s a key that fits.

Ha!

Tell him it’s too cold to be runnin’ around..you just wanna stay home where it’s nice and warm!! And good luck with all that. HA
Judy Laquidara says
So far he hasn’t mentioned leaving. We’re grilling steaks about 2:30 and then a football game comes on about 3:30 so I think I’m safe.
Paula says
Yeh, I want to stay home too, but have to help pick up a couch that’s over an hour away. ?
Judy Laquidara says
Oh, no . . that’s a big chunk out of your day. Be safe.

I’m staying home to wait for the heat pump guy to come fix the darn thing. Third time since Thanksgiving. I’m more than irritated. Hope that translates to me getting things done.
I am going to work on the test quilt I need to have together next week.

all of my parts are ready and today i assemble the quilt top! i might have to run to the quilt shop for backing if i don’t have something suitable in my stash. i’ll start today with a new needle, i was skipping stitches yesterday even tho i began this project with a new one.

Sorry I don’t have a blog to link to and am not really interested in having one as I think, for me, it would be something else to keep me from focusing on what I need to do. I am focusing on the UFO project for this month since it may take me all month to get it finished. I worked and worked and got the backs made for the four little quilts that will go together to make one large quilt. however, at some point after all that was done, I realized that, since they are not only larger than the fronts, they are also nine patches and how on earth am I going to match up the seams????? I think I am going to try taping a pattern on the tables and match the center of the nine patch to it. and then hopefully I can get the tops centered. we shall see. at least I know however the back turns out, the front will be good and my friend will love it.

Thanks for the Quiltathon! As if we in the Pacific Northwest needed a reason to stay inside and SEW today. 4+ inches of snow today and still coming down.
