There are two knitted items I’ve recently seen on Ravelry that I’d like to share with those of you who knit. These would make great Christmas gifts, though maybe at this point, they would be better for next year.
First, this 12 oz. travel coffee “mug” can be personalized. They show it with a picture inserted but some on Ravelry are knitting “socks” for them. I’ve ordered one for Vince and will knit a “sock” using Georgia Tech colors. The tumbler/mug things can probably be purchased lots of places. Starbucks sells them and other places probably have them too.
Second is this Jar Topper Washcloth. This is so cute! A gift of homemade cookies or candies could be put in a jar and this topper used as a “topper” and then when the present is “opened”, the washcloth is . . a washcloth. Also, various mixes could be placed in jars and given as gifts. Right now, there’s a discount code that brings the washcloth price down to $1.99.
Just thinking about quick gifts!

I just finished knitting a cowl and now I’m knitting a hat. I found a great benefit to knitting. I’m not hungry . Two days ago I didn’t knit and every commercial on t. v. was an ad for food. Pizza, burgers, fries, candy, I wanted it all ,Later I picked up my knitting and listened to a book on tape and I totally forgot about food. You and Vince are doing great on your weight loss.
When I was a young girl learning to knit there wasa saying. were done. While you are sitting you could be knitting..that makes me think of women who had to sew all their family members clothes after chores for the day were donewithout a sewing machine. Of course their are many people who still live without electricity, running water, or indoor plumbing. I often think of them when I’m doing dishes or taking a shower just how lucky I am.
