So many have asked if the air fryer is hard to clean. No! When I was looking at them on Amazon, and reading all the reviews, at first I was turned off because so many people said they were difficult to clean. They absolutely are not hard to clean. It never takes more than 2 or 3 minutes to clean it, even in the messiest of jobs.
The photos below are after cooking some chicken strips and fries so this isn’t the biggest mess I’ve made in it but the concept is the same for large or small messes.
See the handle at the bottom? That pulls out the basket and drip pan.
When using it, I keep a hot pad handy and sit this part on the hot pad. I doubt it would hurt the countertop but I don’t want to take any chances.
Mash that button and the basket separates from the drip pan.
If there’s a lot of drippings and crumbs in the bottom of the drip pan, I wipe those out with a paper towel.
I make hot soapy water in the drip pan and put the basket down in there. It can either soak or I can clean it right then.
I use a brush and a little Bar Keeper’s Friend to clean the basket.
The drip pan literally wipes clean without any scrubbing.
The wire basket could probably be difficult but with the brush, it gets perfectly clean with little to no effort.
Put it all back together and I promise you . . it took me about 10 times longer to write this blog post than it takes to clean this thing.

Yay! I just got one, and its good to see that it’s easy to clean. The one I got is a bit bigger than the Phillips, I think I’m going to have to put in an annex to my kitchen just to store my portable appliances LOL

I totally agree- I was reading all the comments before hand that it was hard to clean. Don’t know what those people are making in it but it cleans up in a jiffy.
