I should never have made friends with Cat . . she’s giving me gray hair (or should I say . . MORE gray hair?). Yesterday Vince came in at lunch and said “Cat is limping.” I had not seen her in several days. I put food out for her in the morning but if there’s any left in the evening, I take it in because other critters will get it. Her food has been disappearing and I don’t think other critters come around during the day. It isn’t unusual not to see her on rainy days and it had been drizzling for the past three or four days but yesterday at lunch, he saw her and said she was limping. He said she wasn’t using one of her back legs. I went out and searched and searched and called and couldn’t find her. I asked Vince “Was it serious or did it look like maybe she just had a thorn in her foot?” He said “All I saw is she wouldn’t put any weight on a back leg.”
It’s going to be 21° tonight and I wanted to see her. I want to know she’s at least fed and not hungry. I put food out for her this morning, went out a couple of times to see if any of it was gone . . no! I called her. I walked around in the blustery, cold wind and couldn’t find her.
Vince came home from work and said “Did you see Cat is under your car?” No! I’ve been looking for her all day and she was nowhere to be found. He said her food bowl was almost empty so he put more in it. Now that’s gone so she’s eating. I went out and she was on my car but she jumped off o the other side and went off towards the back so I couldn’t see her walking.
At least she isn’t hungry and I”m assuming if she’s jumping on and off my car, her leg must be better, right? Not much I can do since I can’t get close enough to look at it and there’s no way I could get her to the vet.
Darn . . another something to worry about! Vince said “That’s just how it is without side cats!” True, but I don’t like it.

They suck you in, even if you don’t want to get attached, don’t they? Gotta love ’em though. Cats are like that.

Poor cat. I understand: we seem to run the neighborhood cat buffet, they come and go, and I worry about them.

If she is eating and jumping, I think you can rest assured she will make it through the night, and may be better tomorrow. Glad you got to feed her. you’re a good mama.

Hopefully she’s ok if she can jump up and down on the car….thank you for caring!

Can’t help caring about animals. Somethings are just built in to us. The neighbor’s dog is asleep on my sofa right now because it is cold out side and they had her clipped last week. Dumb. Thanks for caring about cat.
