We’ve just finished Week 6. Vince has lost over 30 pounds and I have almost hit the 20 pound. We’ll see how we get through Thanksgiving!
Week 1: Lost 9.2 pounds
Week 2: Lost 4.6 pounds (13.8 total to date)
Week 3: Lost 1.8 pounds (15.6 pounds to date)
Week 4: Lost 1.6 pounds (17.2 pounds to date)
Week 5: Gained 1.2 pounds (16 pound lost to date)
Week 6: Lost 3 pounds (19 pounds to date)
I lost 3 pounds since last Saturday but remember that I was up last Saturday from our Thursday night dinner/dessert.
We’re still checking our blood sugar/glucose levels a couple of times per week. Mine has gone from the 105 range to anywhere between 84 and 87 so I’m real happy with that. Vince’s levels are higher than we’re comfortable with but he still has quite a bit of weight to lose.
I’m easily in the next size down pants but it’s almost like two sizes down because my old jeans were way too tight and I could easily have gone up a size. Vince has not gone down to the smaller size jeans and I keep grabbing all the excess fabric in his butt and telling him he has to go down but he keeps saying “next week”. Maybe I’m going to have to do what I do with some of his horribly holey shorts and “lose” the bigger jeans so he’ll have to switch to the next smaller size. If he doesn’t do it soon, he’s going to completely skip the next size. Don’t worry .. we both have lots of sizes in the closet.
I think we’re doing great! 🙂

WOW!!!!! That is AMAZING AND FANTASTIC!! You guys have done so great in such a short amount of time!!! Even when you re-gain a little bit, you almost immed. lose that and more. SO proud of you two! It is great to see your numbers come down.

Yes, you both are an inspiration …. and it seemed like you were eating healthy BEFORE you even started the diet. You are making me think that I could help my own diabetic issues by dropping a few pounds. And shopping this week and having to buy XXL leggings helped to give incentive. I look forward each week to hearing how you both made out. Keep up the good work, Judy!

You two are really inspiring me! Maybe it’s time for me to get smaller plates…and then smaller pants!

I so enjoy reading about your weight loss methods, and eating methods! It’s great that you are both doing this, AND that you, in particular, love to use fresh veggies and fruits to make meals with. I remember the line you wrote, “We weigh ourselves each time, and then spend the next ten minutes discussing our progress.” A wonderful way to keep encouraging one another!
