I shouldn’t have done it! I told myself I should not do it but I kept going back to it so I did it!
I ordered it over the weekend and it arrived yesterday. I wasn’t expecting it to get here yesterday . . on Tuesday morning I woke up at 3 a.m. The rain woke me up and I couldn’t go back to sleep, which is weird for me. Then Tuesday night I stayed up til 3 a.m. watching election returns so I had been up for 24 hours. Without even setting my alarm, I woke up before 6 yesterday morning so I had less than 3 hours sleep and all day I kept debating with myself . . take a nap or go to bed early and I kept wishing I had a really good book or magazine . . not some deep reading but just something fun to look at. I’m so shallow! 🙂
When I went to get the mail, I was so excited to see that book. Something I could look at in bed. Last night I went to bed early (for me) and ended up looking at that book for two hours. I love it.
I ordered the book from Linda Franz. There are two and I only got the second one. It’s one of those books that, even if I never make one of the quilts, it’s still worth it just for the inspiration!
If (and that’s a very big IF) I decide to make one, I’m hoping I can do it all from stash fabrics but I don’t have many prints. Most everything in my stash is tone on tone. How crazy would it be for me to have to buy fabric? Crazy! Yes!
I started out as a hand piecer so it would be kinda fun to hand piece a quilt again . . maybe!

You know you only need little pieces, so you could always put the word out that you need some prints and lots of us would be willing to share our scraps!

I’m looking forward to seeing what you do.

Judy, if you started out as a hand piecer, you are going to love Linda Franz’s stuff. I have the two books and they are both great. I started on machine and it’s hard for me to slow down and so it is hard for me to slow down and do the precise handwork required but you would be a natural. Rosalie is right. It’s really small pieces. Most, maybe all are less than 1″X1″. I’d be happy to give you shopping bags full! Just come through San Antonio next time you are on your way to Houston or Louisiana!

It’s fun to see you get excited about something “new”!

Two of my friends are working on a Millie project and I love seeing what evolves. They are using lots of fun prints and beg, borrow, or steal from the rest of us!
