It’s probably sad that I get excited about such small things but folks, this is the best pimento & cheese I’ve ever tasted!
It says “Real Cheese, Real Southern and Really Good!” I can vouch for the really good part!
For at least the last 10 years, I’ve made our own pimento & cheese. Vince will buy the regular name brand variety in the store but I don’t like it at all. I was in Wal-mart the other day and this nice lady on the label looked at me like “please take me home” . . so I did.
I’m telling you .. this stuff is 10 times better than my homemade, which I thought was pretty darned good. It has a bit of spice to it . . I keep meaning to check the ingredients to see if it has jalapeno pepper in it. A good blogger would have done that before writing the blog post, right?
I see on their website that they do have a jalapeno variety but this one isn’t it. Not only is it gluten free, which isn’t surprising, but it also has no carbs.
I asked Vince last night which kind he liked best . . whatever the brand is that he usually buys, my homemade or the Palmetto Spread. He said “They’re all good. It’s kinda like asking me if I prefer blondes or redheads!” What? What about a gray haired granny? A simple answer to a simple question would have been nice .. not finding out about his preference in women! 🙂
I still have no doubt which pimento & cheese he prefers but if I’m doing the shopping we’re getting Palmetto Spread!

We found this brand about 2 years ago at the Costco’s in Texas. We’ve bought the jalapeno one and found it was REALLY addicting. Sam’s around us is now carrying this brand, but, they don’t have the jalapeno…..it is SO good!

I think people who get excited about little things are happier in the long run- they find the delight in the every day events of life.

We have this brand at our Costco and I love it too. They now carry both flavors and they are both wonderful. I don’t like the other brands I have tried, though my homemade is not bad, either!

haha! Vince made me laugh!
I’ll look for the Palmetto Pimento Cheese Spread at my Wal-Mart! Thx for the tip!

Love this pimento cheese. I often make my own, but this is even better since I don’t have to grate the cheese!

We love Palmetto Cheese and it’s made right here in South Carolina!

I’ll have to look for that. I get a craving for pimento cheese every once in a while. Do you need to be thinking about dyeing your hair blonde or red? ;^)

We have a local brand made in the small town of Kernersville, NC which is Musten and Crutchfield which is a little “creamier” that the Palmetto. I was thrilled when we tried the Palmetto from Costco. The two of them are my favorites. My daughter lives in Austin and one time I was in her HEB and asked about pimento cheese and they looked at me like I had 2 heads. One of her HEB’s now has a store brand that includes cream cheese and green chilies, I believe. It is different, but good.

You will like the jalapeno one. I’m picky about pimento cheese and this one passes the test. My son-in-law likes it too.

This is our very favorite. We buy it 2 large tubs at a time when we go to Costco. That and a bag of their celery hearts. Don is a happy camper until he runs out.

I think they have more stuff they make. We saw then at some craft show many years ago.

I live in Wisconsin, but grew up in southern Indiana. I love pimento cheese, but they don’t sell it here. I have tried to convert all my friends, so the stores will carry it, but no luck. So I make my own or stock up on it when I travel south.

I buy this pimiento cheese at Kroger in a smaller container than Costco’s. That tub is just too big and I get tired of it. Yes, it does have a bit of kick–if I remember right, it’s red pepper.
