I spent the entire day yesterday cleaning in the sewing room and looking in drawers in the house. I don’t even know if I’ve used a thimble in the 5 years we’ve lived here. Now that I do my quilt bindings totally by machine . . I don’t remember the last time I used a thimble. By 5 p.m., I had found three thimbles.
These will get me started but none of these are what I’m looking for. Somewhere, there are several of my favorites . . but who knows where! I’ll find them eventually I hope!
Other “treasures” were found.
I love this picture of Chad. He had plastered stickers all over hid chest and tummy .. and when I went to his room, they were all over the walls too.
Why do I keep this? Chad worked at Kroger in high school and he hasn’t worked there in 10 years. I almost tossed it but I didn’t.
I think 1994 was the last year we had Astroworld season passes. I was young and skinny back then!
So much stuff everywhere but not the thimbles I want.
The minute I open the closet door where quilts are stored, Boots heads to the top of the quilt pile.
That seems to be his favorite spot . . probably because he isn’t supposed to be up there. He’s looking at me like . . get me down if you can . . and I can’t. I ended up leaving with him up there and going back later to see if he had come out of the closet. He had so I closed the door.
Another day I’ll search more for the thimbles.

Boots is so beautiful ! The quilts are just his tree… he is a climber… and that’s the highest spot ! If you feel extravagant, he would likely really enjoy a cat tree, a tall one ! I think they are so ugly, but I have a climber cat, and it’s either a tree or he is on the mantel… lol

Nice to see Boots saying “catch me if you can”, LOL……and, it’s always fun to look at the fun things we’ve “saved” and try to decide if we should get rid of them, or put them back in the drawer/box, etc.

I always enjoy pictures of Boots, and he is looking mischievous here. What a nice, tall place you provided him (and he knows you did it for him).

Perhaps you can turn those items into Christmas tree ornaments.

Judy, that thimble on the far left, the ‘cutwork’ one…I have it and I just love it. Wish I’d gotten an extra…I live in total fear that I will lose it! Not even sure where I got it. Thanks for the story about cleaning out the sewing room…I really, really need to do that here at Pieceful Harbor, too. I’m inspired!
