There are muffin top pans and hamburger bun pans but I use my little cake pan and it makes perfect buns. It’s this one at Amazon. I like it because the pan is thick and the buns don’t get too brown on the bottom. I detest thin baking pans!
For those who asked, this is the recipe I use for the whole wheat hamburger buns. I grind my own wheat (and I usually use hard red) and it’s a bit more grainy/coarse than storebought whole wheat. If you’ve not used whole wheat to make bread, please be aware that it needs to be more moist (almost downright wet) in order to have a good texture. When I use any kind of bread recipe – whole wheat or white – if it makes more than I want, I stick the extra in the fridge and either make “tortillas” or fry bread with the extras.
One more thing (don’t you love how I keep each blog post to one topic?), several asked about the bushes behind Vince in this picture.
There’s one there at his left arm and one kinda behind him. That’s my rosemary! I planted it 3 years ago and it grows like a weed around here.
OK . . did I answer all your questions?

Rosemary!!?? No way. I would love it. I can barely get a 5″ plant to survive the summer, much less over winter here.

My rosemary was also that big but in a big animal watering trough. However when I had surgery and it was dry here for two months in the summer it died of dryness. I have a new plant to put out next year, After I put more new dirt in the big tub.

The retreat center up in Temecula has rosemary hedges. They smell good in morning dew, and the bees love their blossoms. (Hm, rosemary honey?)
On the other hand, I’ve been told to be careful with it, because it can so easily grow out of control (on our little suburban lots, that big bush would dominate.)
A man in Tacoma, WA had a thyme lawn! He’d mention the wonderful scent of the evening breeze.
Man, I’d like an herb garden. I just have such a black thumb!
