It looks like a cross between a grasshopper and a daddy long legs spider!
I’m not sure what it is . . my guess is some kind of grasshopper. Since it’s at my house, I’m also guessing that it bites and is poisonous! 🙂
Not really – grasshoppers around here so far aren’t poisonous but some of them will take a chunk out of your finger. We catch them for the chickens and I’m real careful about how I catch them but Vince will just close his hand around them and they’ve drawn blood a few times. Those are much bigger than this one though.
Come on, Winter! Give us some relief from these critters.
Looks like “he” has 8 legs, wouldn’t that be a spider?
Yep – 8 legs = spider but those legs sure look like grasshopper legs but I’m sure it’s a spider.
I think that’s maybe a green lynx spider; if so, slightly poisonous, but not likely to bite.
That’s the closest I can find too but he doesn’t look much like this one: http://www.insectidentification.org/insect-description.asp?identification=Green-Lynx-Spider
Eeuuuwwww!! Why did I click that? Now I can’t unsee it!
