It’s funny .. though not really funny, but more weird . . to live where it so rarely rains but when it does rain, it’s a lot all at once.
Over the weekend, we got right at 3-1/2″ of rain. It didn’t seem like that much because it all fell during the night . . Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Thank goodness, it was just one night of thunder. This year, we’ve definitely had more rain than any of our other years here — not enough, but more than normal.
I’m so happy to be through the worst of the summer. Our average first freeze is November 22. Look ahead on the long range forecast, they show our first 32º degree night on November 23. That amazes me that it will be so close to our average first freeze date . . if it’s right.
Bring the winter! I’m ready for a fire in the fireplace, mittens and . . I’m ready to complain about being cold! 🙂

We had those storms here in Wichita Falls Saturday night, too. It dumped 3″ in 1 hour with an overall total of 5.6″. That’s double our average for the whole month of September. I am thankful we are coming out of this drought.
