If you’re a sock knitter (or want to be a sock knitter), here are two events you may want to check out.
First, Socktober begins October 1 and runs through the month of October. This is a fairly quiet group on Ravelry but what I really like is that we can earn points for finishing up socks I have started . . and there are way too many of those.
Second, Knit Purl Hunter is beginning a Knit Along on October 6 with cabled socks using Zauberball yarn. There’s still time to order a skein of this yarn if you’d like to participate or, you can use any yarn. You can read pattern info here. It’s a toe up pattern so if you haven’t tried that, this might be a good time to do so. Knit Purl Hunter’s patterns are always well written and easy to understand and there’s a huge following for her knit alongs. The Ravelry group can get quite chatty but it’s fun too.
I have not even decided on my yarn but I have several options.
Winter is coming and wearing pretty hand made socks makes my feet smile! 🙂 Socks are also relatively inexpensive gifts (as far as hand knitted items go) so get out those tiny needles and some sock yarn and let’s get some socks made!
