If I had been able to choose my own daughter-in-law, I could never have picked one better than Nicole. I love that girl! I love the way she and Chad are raising Addie. So much of what we do, what we eat, what we enjoy and how we think . . it’s all shaped by the lifestyle our parents live and the experiences they share with us. Some of you will not approve but there’s not a whole lot that makes me happier than seeing Chad and his family knowing how to live off the land, how to responsibly hunt, fish, eat what they kill and enjoy the outdoors and all nature has to offer.
Nicole posted this on Facebook:
Having fun at Nana and paw paws house, picked apples, made apple pie with homemade ice cream and daddy got a big squirrel this morning.
I had to laugh . . it sounded like a letter my grandmother would have sent to her mother!
Addie’s helping Nana cook breakfast.
Look at those legs. Where did my baby girl go? She’s picking apples off Nana’s apple tree.
Whoever made that apple pie can come live at my house! Oh, how I wish I could pick apples off a tree and come in and make a pie. I want one now!
It doesn’t bother Addie one bit to handle fish, deer, squirrel, nor does it bother her to eat them. She does a whole lot better eating wild game than does her grandpa in Texas! 🙂

Happy to see parents teaching there child what is important in this old world instead of sticking them in front of a tv or computer. Addie will have great memories of her childhood.
