We have a studio that all of my quilting fabric, batting, completed quilts, as well as my wool knitting yarn is stored in, so keeping a fresh smelling litter box is of utmost importance to me. I have tried almost every brand of litter out there and when I heard about ARM & HAMMER™ Clump & Seal™ MicroGuard™ Cat Litter, it was immediately added to my shopping list. I’m already a big fan of ARM & HAMMER™ products and especially their products dealing with odor elimination so I had high hopes for ARM & HAMMER™ Clump & Seal™ MicroGuard™ Cat Litter. Their claim that heavy-duty odor eliminators plus ARM & HAMMER™ Baking Soda destroy immediate odors on contact had me rushing out to buy a box.
I have been so delighted with the scent of the sewing room and while out shopping recently, I picked up three more boxes. Until reading the material about Clump & Seal™ Cat Litter, I had no idea that even after you scoop, bacterial odor can keep growing. The new MicroGuard™ technology seals and destroys immediate odor, plus, prevents the growth of future bacterial odors for 7-day odor control. That matters to me and I love having the confidence in knowing that Clump & Seal™ Cat Litter will be doing its job for 7 full days. You can read the info about the benefits of switching to ARM & HAMMER™ Clump & Seal™ MicroGuard™ Cat Litter on their website.
Our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter were recently here spending a week with us and of course, the granddaughter loved spending time with Boots. My daughter-in-law pretty much summed up why I love Clump & Seal™ Cat Litter. She walked into the studio and said “I’m surprised your studio doesn’t smell like a cat” and she went on to tell me about her friend who has a cat and as soon as you walk in the house, you smell the litter box. For someone who doesn’t have a cat to notice and comment that there is no kitty litter box smell at all… that says a lot about
ARM & HAMMER™ Clump & Seal™ MicroGuard™ Cat Litter.
If you’re the owner of an inside cat (or should I say, if you are owned by an inside cat) . . you probably fear having guests walk in just as your kitty has “done its job”, and suddenly there’s that odor running through the entire house and permeating your nostrils. If you’re not an inside cat owner, you probably have friends who are and you’ve experienced the same thing while visiting them. You might want to grab a box of Clump & Seal™ Cat Litter, gift it to them and tell them what great things you’ve heard about this product!
My long time blog readers know that I went from being an “I don’t ever want an inside cat” to being so in love with our Boots that I feel like I’ve been a cat owner forever. For a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card, leave a comment and tell me all about your favorite inside kitty – it may not even be your own kitty.

Glad you found Arm & Hammer Products for your kitty. My cat (whom I’ve had had 16 years) is an indoor cat and while I’ve tried other cat litter products, I keep coming back to Arm & Hammer as it does an excellent job with odors and the ever-critical clump factor when trying to clean the litter box.

Rules say you can comment on this post. Grayce is the kitty who adopted us. She came to the door a little calico. I thought she was six weeks old because of her size but vet check said six months. G was starved down to nothing and we found her the week of Christmas when it was freezing cold. We had her for sixteen wonderful years and she was a little princess who never failed to use the litter box and loved us as much as we loved her. I had never had a cat and became dotty for them after taking in Grayce. We miss her so.

I have an inside orange kitty. This guy is so smart he comes when I call him, he goes into his room where he stays when he sees me getting ready to leave the house, and when he needs to hack up a hairball he goes to the carpet square by his litter box to throw up instead of the good carpet in the house. He also thinks that when my husband mutes the tv for commercials it must be bedtime so wherever he is in the house he comes down to his bedroom because he thinks the tv going silent means it’s bedtime. He will do that every time the tv goes silent. I would love to say I trained him but he learned this all on his own.

Pepper was my niece’s kitty. She was black with one white whisker. When they would visit my Inlaws pepper would come and let it be known she was the highest ranking family member. One chair was her favorite and she would sit and stare intently at anyone who sat in her chair. She would usually out stare and win back HER chair. She was known for bringing food gifts from outside some still alive. Lots of exercise resulted from this habit. It was a joy to have known Pepper.

Maggie is a rescue kitty. She is so smart and makes us laugh. The first day we brought her home she chased her tail. And she does the Merryweather ( it is what we call her backside wiggle after the fairy in the Disney’s Sleeping Beauty before Maggie pounces). She talks before she is going to do something.
Sue S says
I’ve had several cats, my current favorite is a rescue kitty named Miss Kitty. I think her former owner was a Gunsmoke fan! She looks a lot like Boots but she’s gray where he is black. She likes to nuzzle my face before she settles down in my lap to interfere with my knitting. Her favorite toy is the ring off the milk jug. I’m pretty sure we use that same litter, and we love it too.
Tina in NJ says
I’ve loved all my kitties! Right now we only have one, a two-year-old female tuxedo cat named Jinx. This one doesn’t talk to us, she demands. My teenaged daughter has whole conversations with the cat. She’s (Jinx, that is) very particular about her litter. She regularly supervises the cleaning of said litterbox, the proceeds to fill it up again immediately!
Verna says
I have three favorite kitties–Miss Kitty (who is in my lap right now helping me write this), Snickers (a tortoiseshell like Cat), and Dasher (brown tabby). Snickers likes to help me sew, and Dasher is the only one who is quite fond of our dog. They are all rescues and we don’t know what we’d do without them!

My favorite inside kitty was Miss Isabella. She went by the name of Isakitty. She recently passed away and I have to say you could not tell that she was gone for several weeks. I sure wish I had known about the Clump and Seal. We where finally able to dispense the kitty litter smell with liberal spreading of baking soda where the box had set. The box had been in the same location for over 16 years so that is saying something about the order absorbing qualities of the Arm & Hammer baking soda.
Lee Young says
I have two “favorite” kitties (picking one over the other would be akin to favoring one child over the other). Raven is non-uniform tuxie meaning her white isn’t equal or near-equal on both sides. She was rescued from the road by a neighbor when she was only about four weeks old, and came to us at six weeks. She’s become very stocky and gets called ‘chunk’ quite often. She also has slightly crossed eyes from a genetic malformation. She was supposed to be MY kittie, but seems to prefer my husband and son, and she plays fetch. The kitty who was supposed to be my son’s, has chosen me as her person and her name is Flame. She’s orange tiger and white and has a very long tail. She stays very skinny and likes to bounce around the house, off walls, up to the upper step from the hallway floor, so I refer to her as my parkour kitty. She was adopted at about two months from a local rescue. Both are strictly indoors. One of my caveats with cat litter, is that IT is unscented – I do not care for perfumes of any kind in the products I use in my home. We have a lot of dust, and when I clean, the smell from scented litters used in the past would waft in the air.

The only time of my entire 53 years of life I’ve been without an indoor-only kitty was our first 6 month of marriage! A house wouldn’t seem like a home without a feline overseer! A little kitty humor. You know the difference between cats and dogs? Dogs have masters, cats have staff!
Our kitty is a 15 year old Siamese Maine Coon girlie with the biggest blue eyes! They inspired her name, Brindle Blue! She’s my constant companion and a couldn’t imagine our without her!

Missy is my little Japanese Bobtail. Her black and white fur is medium long and constantly shedding! Brush, brush, brush. I love her beautiful white ruff.
Missy started out as an inside/outside cat and often played with the other kitties in the building. When my son came to stay for a while with his Rottweiler, things got real interesting!! The Rott wanted to play, but Missy said ‘nope, I’m the boss,’ and the Rott quickly learned to steer clear. LOL
Because of a move to a high traffic area, she is now a strictly inside cat. She likes to play fetch, doesn’t like to be held, and sleeps on my chest at night.
Missy is now 17 years old; still healthy, but showing signs of advanced age (as am I) sigh.

I have 2 cats and have used Arm & Hammer and never had a problem with the smell until now. I think my husband bought the wrong brand because now I can smell the cat pan as soon as I walk in the house. But I love my kitties! and Boots is a cool cat; love to hear about his antics.
Anita says
My dearest cat, Clarabird, died when she was nineteen years old. She knew when I was pregnant with each of my four children before I did. She never slept with me but when I was pregnant, she wouldn’t leave me alone until my belly was too big and round for her to stay on! We have had other cats along with her. Our oldest cat now, Ginger Josephine, likes to get into our fabric and pull out pieces and strew them all over the place, even up the steps and to the second floor bedroom! She is a tortie but when she stands at the window, she looks like she has ginger/white striped pants on so we nicknamed her Ginger pants. I think we may have to make the switch to the Arm and Hammer brand. Three cats make a lot of stink!

My favorite indoor kitty is my 9 year old daughter’s cat named Bella. She is black and white – looks a lot like your Boots, but it sounds like Boots is more well mannered! 🙂 We adopted Bella from a local shelter and the entire family has grown to love her! I am a dog-person, through and through, but I love all furry animals. My favorite cat ever is the cat that made even my dad like cats. Smokey the Bandit stole Dad’s heart when looking for a new companion for Grandma. Smokey thinks he is a dog. Fetch, roll over, comes when called – you name the trick and he can do it! Remarkable for a cat since we all know the ‘herding cats’ euphemism is true!

We have 6 cats (combining families also combined pets!) and each has its own personality and reason to be a favorite. Although I do like them all, the ones I added to the mix are tops on my list–Smokey is a grey tom that my grandson found in the snow when he was approximately 6 months old. He is now 16 yrs old and definitely the master of all he surveys. Then there is Sable, who really adopted me–she came up to me in the yard (live in the country and it is unfortunately not unusual to have animals dumped) and virtually told me that I now belonged to her! The vet estimated that she was about 1 year old, so is about 6 now.

Don’t know how I missed this post! I’m in! I’ve never in my life had a solely inside kitty; mine have always been indoor/outdoor. But we’ve just adopted two kitties and we’re going to keep them indoor only. Already, the cat litter thing is a challenge! It’s everywhere! I do use Arm and Hammer with baking soda, but I think I’ll need to try this new stuff. Two kitties p**p more often than you think!! If I win, I’ll use the entire amount for kitty litter and cat toys, I’m sure of it.

My Murphy girl is a sweet natured, polydactyl Maine Coon. She loves to cuddle and sleep right next to my pillow. (That’s not something I particularly like but…) She knows what time bedtime is and reminds me, and DH, every night, whether we like it or not!

Our kitty tracks litter all over the place. He has lots of fur between the pads on his paws! Maybe I should switch and see if it helps keep the litter where it belongs.

I have two kitties who were abandoned by their previous owners. They’re great cats each in their own way. Cato, the oldest, is laid-back but he is always in charge. Frankie is skittish but more loving all the time. We’re so glad they found their way to us, and I always tell my DH they’re lucky they did. They definitely live the good life!

This is a cat story Judy that isn’t my cat, it was my cousin’s cat. She was a rep for a company that opened delicatessen’s in some big box stores. Once when she was in Tupelo, Mississippi she was stopped and all the way home she kept hearing a kitten mewing. She got home and unbeknowst to her was a kitten that had crawled up into her car, under the hood which she had to take to her local mechanic to take apart her car to get said kitten out. She adopted said cat, tried naming him Tupelo. She called him baby all the time and I told her she ought to just name him that since that is all she ever called him. Needless to say she did rename him Baby. She isn’t sure what happened to him but she had to have him put down year before last. He fit in perfectly well with her Great Pyrenese Oscar, whom she lost this year, and another stray she named Sally whom she still has. Baby, Sally and Oscar brought so much joy to all our lives.

when I had my daughter, I had to say goodbye to my beloved cat Nikki. She was old and not getting around and in pain. It was heartbreaking. I did not want another cat. But when my daughter was six months old, my husband got Spazz, a hyper, lovable Siamese. And sixteen years later, Spazz is now calmer, slowed down, but right now cuddled up to me as i type.

Just this past year we had a visit from one of our neighbors outside cats. Believe me, this person should not be allowed to have any animals at all he is so awful to them. Yet, not one agency will do anything to take away these animals that are being abused by him. This scrawny tiger striped long haired cat began checking out our garden and huge front yard area hunting gophers and birds. Yet, she kept her distance for months until just mysteriously she came up to our porch and was meowing and meowing. While hubby went in to get some cat food in a bowl, I went out to see if I could talk to her and get her to come up on the porch and eat. She actually came right up to me and started purring so loudly and “talking” at the same time, so I picked her up and brought her up onto the porch and her eyes just got so big when hubby put the food bowl in front of her. We named her Hunter and she is an inside outside cat that both of our dogs love and she loves them and she loves to come in while I am sewing and curl up on a shelf by a window by the table where I sew and take her afternoon nap for hours and hours or in the late evening she curls up on the cutting mat table located in the living room where my husbands main computer is and spends a few hours with him. She is just bringing so much laughter, love and joy into our lives we are glad that she found us and decided she would stay with us!

I have six kitties (all appeared at our house just like Boots), and picking one favorite is almost impossible.
But….. the littlest of the bunch has a special place in my heart. We found her near the wood pile after her mom had moved the rest of the litter and she got left behind. She was maybe a week old so I quickly learned all there was to know about bottle-raising a kitten. Despite being teeny tiny when she first tried nursing on the bottle I was shocked at how big her paws look, and exclaimed “Oh my, look at those big bear claws!”. Which is how she got the name Bear. My (not always) sweet Baby Bear.

My favorite cat is my youngest, Cody. He is gray and white, with big green eyes and long legs. He waits patiently for the older cats to eat (he’s two), but he also has times where he antagonizes them to get them a little riled up so they’ll play. Cody is a smart cat, and he minds pretty well. I’m trying to teach him to be a lap cat, and he’ll tolerate being held now (he was abandoned), but he doesn’t want to stay very long. Whenever we get up and start walking, he leads the way, and when we walk past him, he talks to us to let us know he’s there. He shares a litter box and food with the other cats. Hopefully, he will remain in good health and be around for many years, as he is really adorable.

I was very lonely after losing my husband 2 years ago. A stray showed up and made himself at home. He is my shadow.

I have 6 kitties, if I were to say I had a favourite they’d gang up and kill me. Of course, if I WERE to say that, I’d say it’s either my one-eyed pirate kitty Kerry who I rescued, or my 17 year old little grey tabby cat Freya (also rescued).

My brothers cat Herman was a Siamese cat. He was the biggest cat I’ve ever seen and he loved to sleep in peoples laps.

We don’t have an indoor cat but there are 6 outdoor cats who have taken up residence at our home. Each has its own personality. They are such fun.

My cat is Millie who will be 13 in January. She has been an indoor cat ever since I adopted her from our local animal shelter when she was 7 weeks old. She and her siblings were found abandoned. She is quite a sweetheart and a “mamas” cat!!

My favorite kittie was Chessie (named after the Chesapeake and Ohio railroad mascot) when I was 5. Chessie let me dress her and carry her around like a doll. She was the best cat ever! I’ve had many cats since and love them all but Chessie was the best.

I have 5 full-time indoor cats and 3 part-time in and out cats….they are all rescues – kittens of feral cats or just showed up. Olive is the current favorite as she was very sick back in October and I thought we would lose her….vet, abx, fluids and she was not eating…finally got her to eat a teaspoon of food and kept at it every hour or so and she got well and gained her weight back…still not sure what was wrong, but she is back to sleeping next to me and comes out of the bedroom to find me…especially at bedtime!

We don’t have a cat but our neighbors have 2 cats. One stays inside & is rarely seen. The other one is outside most of the time. They don’t get along. The outside cat is actually friendlier than the inside one.

My favorite kitties are Sissy and Kizzy! They are sisters and are the two sweetest girls in the world! They are calicos, one a normal and the other is a dilute. Beautiful and crazy girls. They just turned a year old. Their favorite activity is to torment the dog to get the dog to chase them so they can jump up on furniture and glare down at the dog. 🙂 It’s cute when all three are snoozing together though.

I love my boyfriend’s grandma’s kitty. Well, even more so, hearing her tell the story of how her great-grandkids found it in the park and cleaned it up and brought it to her. It’s a full grown cat but still looks like a kitten and she just adores it.

We lived out in the country and a mama feral cat and her two kittens started hanging around our yard. Of course, I began feeding them and could even lure them into our sun porch for short visits. But they wouldn’t stay until one day, the male kitten decided he sort of liked being a house cat and never left again. He is a total love, has attached himself to my husband and follows him around like a dog.
