Our Sweet Kitties

If I say this enough times, maybe I will believe it. I’m really not a cat lover! I’ve never wanted a cat, I would never hurt a cat but I just don’t really like them . . except for Boots and Cat. How did we get so lucky as to get two such wonderful cats? Boots is the sweetest cast and he’s so loving. He loves to be held and have his belly rubbed . . til he’s had enough and then he goes off to spend time alone. I guess that’s just how cats are, right?

Boots’ coloring is so symmetrical . . I’ always telling him he should be in the movies because he’s so pretty.

Cat, on the other hand, is so stand-offish and everything has to be on her terms. Maybe it’s because she came here, so afraid of us, we could barely be sure it was a cat we were seeing and then she was gone. She’s been letting me pet her for several months but she’s just now started letting Vince pet her.

When we were first able to get glimpses of Cat, I thought she was the ugliest cat ever. Her coat was awful – seemed thin and no shine at all. But now, I thinks he’s so pretty too. Maybe it’s like mothers always thinking their own children are beautiful.

Yesterday Vince and I started to go off to the next little town and we were taking the Highlander so I told Vince . . You have to be the one to tell Cat we’re taking her car! But, lucky for Vince, Cat was hanging out in the RTV so we didn’t have to disrupt her position.

We were gone probably 4 or 5 hours and when we arrived back home, Cat had changed positions but was still in the RTV.

She definitely thinks she owns everything around here and once she gets comfy, she does not mid hissing at us if we try to get her to move. I hope that with time, she’ll get a little more comfortable with us and we can pet her more.
