It’s probably a little early to be celebrating but the last 2-1/2 to 3 weeks of August have been so unbelievably cool and comfortable here . . it hardly seems like Central Texas. We’ve had a couple of showers to settle the dust and pollen and we’ve been able to sleep with the windows open. Any time the night temps are below 70º, if there’s been a recent rain, our windows are open.
The dew tells me fall is coming! It won’t be long before the dew turns to frost. Oh . . wait . . that’s somewhere . . just not here! We don’t get much frost and it’s quite a while before we see frost but I’m happy to see dew that comes from the cooler nights.
By the way, those are my tracks . . me out walking the dogs early in the morning.
The roof is wet and I can hear the moisture dripping into the gutters.
It’s funny to reflect on things that matter, depending on where you live and your life circumstances. Having spent most of my life where there was sufficient rainfall and even though summers were hot, they seemed more bearable than here, I never got excited about seeing dew; I never longed for Fall. Now, any little sign that summer is coming to an end makes me very happy!

We are having cooler nights here in New Mexico also. Looking forward to fall. The only thing I don’t like is getting dark so early. Thought I was going to have to pay a bunch of money to get rid of bats, but they seem to have gone away on their own. Happy about that.
