I swear . . I’m at the point where I am going to close my eyes and pick a yarn. This morning I got out all the yarn that I had decided would maybe work.
Yarn Possibilities
Then I decided to pull out all the background possibilities:
Background Yarn
Far left is dark purple, then a purpleish blue then blacks to grays.
Next, I’d set out the colored yarns that might work with the solids.
Foreground Yarns
Then I decided to look at the pattern and see how much yarn I would need of each. Had I not done that before? Oh, no! I need 2 skeins of each – background and colored yarns.
Now we’re down to these possibilities for the colored yarn. I’m sure there are more but how much more time can I spend digging for yarn?

The one on the left – I only have 750 yards and it says I need 800 yards.
The second from left . . I think the light is too light for the dark and the balance would be off.
The second from right – I like it but seems a bit drab.
The far right . . so bright! So “in your face”.
Possibilities
The only two that would work, from the yarn I have pulled, are the purple/tan and the orange/yellow.
I still don’t know if I’m going to go searching for more yarn or go with the orange/yellow.
So, please tell me that someone has made a decision and you know what yarn you’re using!

I had my yarn all picked out and actually had plans for three of these. 2 for gifts and 1 for me. Then my wonderful husband took me to a new-to-me yarn shop, and I found the most gorgeous rainbow gradient cakes from Apple Tree Knits, so… ???? Of course I had to get some! Now looking for a solid black with enough yardage to use as my background! I don’t have a blog or way to share pictures or I gladly would!
