I’m struggling! The sock knitting was fun and fast paced. My Camp Loopy project is not. The colors aren’t has I envisioned them and they just don’t excite me.
I got so tired of stripes, especially on the sleeves where I kept getting tangled up . . forgetting to go left and then go right and the yarn was getting messy. I gave up on the stripes and decided to finish the rest of the sleeve in solid. Camp Loopy rules don’t say I have to follow the pattern exactly!
Honestly, I’ve lost interest. I think there’s too much going on around here. I need something I can make that requires no thought . . although this sweater is quite simple. Maybe I need something more portable . . like plain jane socks. Maybe I just need to hibernate til summer is over.
There’s pretty much no chance I’m going to get the August project done. We have company coming August 1, which means I should be cleaning . . every minute of every day til they arrive. I have one trip for sure and maybe another trip to MO in August. Even though the project I had planned to do, Emiliana, isn’t hard, I think it requires more thought and time than I’m going to have to offer during August.
I think I’m going to put Camp Loopy aside, accept that I was a bad camper this summer, get my house ready for company, and figure out what to do next. One day at a time . . that’s the advice I need right now.
The sweater and the yarn are now packed away in my Camp Loopy bag and hung on my “projects” wall. The sweater is a size 6 so it will fit Addie for several more winters . . just not this winter!

Don’t be too hard on yourself. Sometimes life just has other plans for your time. Enjoy your company and see if extra time just appears out of the blue. I get really bogged down when I have something I need to do instead of want to do. Then it seems I can’t get either done.

I like the change in the sleeve of the sweater. Otherwise, there really was too many stripes. No, I don’t knit, but stripes are almost as bad as checks when quilting. I can almost be a cross-eyed blonde with too many.

I definitely luv the pattern change to the solid!!!!! My thot……way too many stripes (even for a younger cutie!). I’m looking my/our days ahead and have the same feelings—-eek! What happened!!!! Picked up my Instant Pot today and figure I won’t even have a moment to try it out til MAYBE next week (and we’ll be gone the week following!)….sigh……..and clients’ quilts await plus TX workshops and a local 2-day demo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know….one day at a time but SOME prep is needed at some point…………………..

Love your “project wall” – what a great idea!!!! I think the solid sleeve adds a lot – be interesting to see what you eventually do with the other sleeve and the collar etc.

I think your idea of plain Jane socks is a good one! It is the time of year for family visits and company for you. Plus the garden and canning. Save the more complicated patterns for winter days and enjoy this season for what it is! Cheers!
