There are some foods that once I get in my head, I just have to stop what I’m doing and fix. Do you do that?
We don’t often have ripe, fresh tomatoes in the house but last night we did . . along with salt rising bread which makes such good toast so even though it was too late to be eating, I had skipped dinner but once I thought about a BLT, I had to stop what I was doing and make one.
That was so good, I think we’ll have them for lunch today . . cantaloupe again too!

Hi Judy, it’s been a couple of days. have you found the little hen and how many eggs did she have?
She’s back but I’m guessing a snake chased her off the eggs because she’s not trying to sit on eggs in the coop .. kinda lost her broodiness for now.
Don’t pumpkins and Hubbard squash keep for several months in a cool cellar or basement? I seem to recall reading about that in the Little House on the Prairie books. So maybe you wouldn’t have to can everything right now…..

Ah, Ruth…if only she (or I) had anything cool! No basements where Judy is, nor here.
