The 5th Tour-de-Sock pattern is called Six Tastes and it’s mosaic work, which I’ve never done but am enjoying. The designer calls the heel “an unusual variation of a Strong heel”. A Strong heel is a type of heel, and I don’t think I’ve ever done it before so add the “unusual” to this and at first reading of the pattern, it seemed totally confusing. I took my own advice and began doing it one step at a time, not worrying about Step 8 til I’d finished Steps 1 – 7. Sometimes reading ahead compounds my confusion.
Isn’t that a neat looking sock/heel? I love it and with the double strands of yarn, this is going to be a very cushy sock . . probably a bit warm for Texas but people do move, right? And where you live today doesn’t mean you’ll live there forever, right? That’s what I’m thinking!
It was funny because about 11:20 last night, I got a text from Nicole.
She was knitting on her July Camp Loopy project and had a question. She called and we got her through that, then I had to finish the heel because I knew if I put it down, I’d never figure out where I had left off.
Shortly before 1 a.m., I put the sock down and went to bed. So far today I’ve had no knitting time and Vince wants to run to town. Who saw that coming? 🙂

That is one great looking sock and heel., It is so cool that your daughter in law can text you late at night and you are up knitting too.
