Very early this morning, I finished the Diamondback Socks. As I said, they were so fun to knit. I would love to start another pair right now but the next sock pattern comes out tomorrow afternoon and it involves beads . . something else I’ve never done.
The pattern was a bit challenging to figure out but once I got going, it was so fun watching each section develop. The only problems I had were because I don’t fully read directions and had I read and paid attention, I wouldn’t have had any problems at all. The second sock went a whole lot more smoothly (and more quickly) than did the first one.
My hands need a break. Between all the knitting, picking and shelling peas/beans, they’re aching and feeling their age! 🙂
Today I shall do some more cleaning, meal planning and maybe even go to town . . we’ll see . . that’s a big step for me and one I avoid until I can no longer avoid it. I have to go either today or tomorrow because I surely don’t want to go on Saturday when Vince would be with me. That always means we bring home way more than I had planned to get.
And, there are more peas to shell. I picked cream peas last night and getting those put up will take a good chunk of my day so . . it will be a busy day with no knitting I’m sure.

If those socks were mine, they would make me smile every time I put them on. Let’s hear it for perseverance! Right about the time you started these, I started a shawl. It seemed simple enough, lacey scallops on the diagonal. Last night I finally got past the second repeat, I had to restart nine times. My shawl is about six inches square so far, but I am finally happy with it and picked up the “rhythm” of the pattern.

Judy, those are the prettiest socks I’ve ever seen on any blogs or post on Ravelry. Love the colors AND that pattern is fantastic. Well done!
