That pumpkin got the best of me and I picked it. It seems ripe. The skin is tough. The stem was really dry and hard to cut through. I think I’ll make a pumpkin pie this week!
I pick a few peppers every night, along with enough squash for dinner. Sometimes I just mix it all up and we have lemon squash, zucchini, patty pan . . all in the same pot. I’m getting enough squash to keep the dehydrator going non-stop.
The one peach . . I picked that to see if they are ripe. These are the peaches with white meat and they are so good. They are ready so I’ll either pick them tonight or tomorrow and figure out what to do with them.
We so desperately need rain. We had enough thunder this afternoon to send Rita running for cover but not a drop of rain. Maybe before the evening is over but the sun is out and the sprinklers are going . . just in case it doesn’t rain.

Oh I am jealous … my garden is just starting sort of .. the tomatoes are about 2 feet tall already, The peppers are just starting to grow, the onions are growing like weeds and I need to replant the garlic. But then we had snow up until after Mother’s day and was wondering if I did the right thing by planting them. The insects have gotten to the leaves of the horseradish plants and I am hoping with spraying them yesterday they will manage to come back and grow.
mmmm Pumpkin pie and my dog loves pumpkin. I will have to hit the farmers market this year as I didn’t plant any pumpkins.
