I don’t think Rita can get into the bed by herself but I know she can jump onto the chair and then get into the bed. The other night I had put clean sheets on the bed and put her bed back on the bed. Usually her bed is near the foot of the bed and it’s on top of the covers but she has her own blanket that her friend (really my friend’s dog but really just my friend!) sent her. After putting the sheets on the bed, I came out of the bedroom, closed the door and was knitting. Vince said “Where’s Rita?” I didn’t know.
I started looking for her and was about to get worried when I remembered that maybe she went into the bedroom without me knowing it. Yep, she was in her little bed already fast asleep til I went in and woke her.
Looking at her all curled up in her little bed, I had to think how different her life is from what it was when she was living out in the woods for at least a couple of weeks, eating acorns and sleeping no telling where . . til Vince caught her in the trap and we decided she could come live inside the house.
I thought we would never get her house trained but I’m thinking we’ve got that down now. She’s the first girl dog I’ve ever had and it’s amazing how bossy and “take charge” she is. Not sure if that’s because she’s a girl or because she’s a chihuahua. I’m so glad she’s a friendly, happy dog. Speck has never been friendly and always been a bit grumpy.
We’re pretty lucky that Rita chose us!

How sweet! Yoda, my Chihuahua, was definitely the one in charge of me, Sir Paddington, the Poodle and my husband. He ran the house! If Paddington needed to go outside it was Yoda who announced it. If it was time for them to have a treat he was the one who spoke up. He controlled all the dog toys unless I got nasty. Am not sure where his watch was at, but he kept us on schedule. We miss that little stinker!

Too Cute! Our girls will curl up on anything that is on the bed but not put away yet. Rita is a content little girl!
