I never know if Cat is trying to make me have a heart attack or, in his own, way .. he’s trying to get close to me.
Last night I had been working in the garden and it was almost dark when I was finished. I went to turn off the water to the garden and remembered I needed to water the plants on the tables. Just as I started to water, 2 feet in front of me . . not expecting to see him . .
I screamed! I probably said a bad word. I had to go in the house to get the camera. Vince was sitting in his chair and I asked him if he heard me scream. No! That’s comforting.
I went back out and got a couple of pictures and then I guess Cat had enough of me.
He jumped down from the table and ran over to the old chicken hospital/jail.
Was he happy that he accomplished his goal to either scare me half to death or get close to me?
Speaking of Cat, there was quite a noisy session of cats doing what cats do last night. I just hope Cat wasn’t a part of that little escapade.

Cat is trying to get close to you…on his own terms. So, watch for it–and be ready to pet.
If you had any treats in your pocket to offer him, he would come to you even sooner. Tam

Cat’s not as afraid as (s)he once was. Didn’t even run when you screamed. haha!
Nor did Vince come running!!

Your cat is beautiful and she is a SHE not a he. All tortise shell cats are female. Males are extremely rare and always sterile (XXY chromosomes to get a male tortie or male calico). I thought you might like to know. I have 2 calico cats myself. They are very sweet. Here is a link JIC you want to read about it http://www.knowyourcat.info/lib/whytortiefemale.htm

Yes I know he’s probably a she but until Rita, I had never had a female pet of any kind so I call them all “he” and so far, Cat has not complained. 🙂

I vote for just getting closer to you…better trust.
Since Cat has been around so long, and you have not heard nighttime activity before, I doubt s/he was involved last night!
