We went to check on the bluebirds after the storm and make sure the boxes were ok and didn’t need any repairs. Some of our boxes have their third set of babies this year.
It’s hard for me to get pictures since I’m holding the camera over my head and hoping to get a quick picture before mama bluebird pecks my eyeballs out.
There are still nests with eggs in them. I think the bluebirds like what Vince has done for them!

Hi Judy, How do you keep the raccoons out of them? We have a bluebird house and we are having a heck of a time with the raccoons breaking in and getting the eggs or chicks.

There are all kinds of baffles that should help keep predators out. This site shows some options: http://www.sialis.org/baffle.htm

My pair on second clutch. First clutch of five all fledged. I had a box on a tree once and a snake got into it. Now my nest boxes are on poles with racoon/posssum and snake proof.
Golly but they’re fun to watch.

Could you use a selfie stick on your camera? Love the bird and egg pics!

OK, so the same couple will lay 2-3 batches of eggs in a season? I never knew that, just figured most bird couples only laid 1 batch and then they were done til next year. What else does Vince do other than provide housing?

OH I wish the bluebirds here would nest in the house. They come to the feeder… but I think I posted before, the chickadees got to the bluebird house and nested first… I cleaned it out but no new renters… about a week or so. Do the bluebirds use the same nests for each brood? Any idea how long in between?

Thank you for sharing. No bluebirds here, just Blu jays.
I enjoy your pictures of cat and cows and other stuff
