Yesterday The Loopy Ewe announced the requirements for the first month of Camp Loopy. Before I tell you all about me . . my decision . . my yarn .. my pattern, let me encourage you to do Camp Loopy. There’s a knitting and a quilting category so don’t go saying you can’t play because you don’t knit! You can read all about the first month of Camp Loopy on the Loopy Ewe Blog. Camp Loopy is really fun . . even if you’re busy and don’t have to do it . . that makes it more fun . . the challenge of getting it done. There’s the group discussions, seeing what everyone else is making and .. you get a discount on your materials for your project and if you complete all three, you get a specially dyed skein of yarn.
For this project, we could make cables, fair isle, lace or brioche. I chose cables.
Pinctada is something that’s been in my library for a while, since February, 2014 in fact. I’m happy to finally be making it.
I love Madelinetosh yarns and it seems like every color that I love and can’t get enough of . . they discontinue it. They’ve just announced they’re discontinuing a whole bunch of colors and Mica is one of them and it’s one of my favorites. So, I was happy that TLE had 2 skeins of Pashmina in Mica remaining, which is just what I need for my Pinctada!
Hurry up June 1 so I can start knitting on this project!

I knew when I saw the categories that you would most likely be hanging out in Cable Cove. 🙂

Pretty pattern! That Mica makes me think of Bloomsbury. I can’t believe all the pretty colors that are being discontinued. So far I’ve managed to stay away from grabbing any though.
