We stopped by Kroger yesterday and one of the things we needed was bananas. They were like 49¢/pound. We had just been to Home Depot where we spent about $20 for concrete blocks to prop up the bananas that kept falling over in the wind.
I had to laugh at the whole situation but at least I have fun with my plants.
Everything is now out of the greenhouse. It looks lonely but will be there waiting for us to move everything back in when summer is over. I’m ready already . . can we just skip summer? 🙂

I had banana trees in Baton Rouge – all I can say is that they were NOT Cavendish – they tasted TERRIBLE. But fun for the kids.

These are mini “finger” bananas – musa dwarf manwah – and they’re supposed to be delicious. We’ll see if they ever make fruit. I can’t plant them in the ground and have to keep them in pots and move them into the greenhouse in the winter so I may never see bananas but . . if I hadn’t got them and tried, I’d for sure never grow bananas.
My parents have bananas in sw Louisiana and they’re good to eat.

NO!! We cannot skip summer cuz if we did, that’d mean winter would soon be here and I HATE winter! LOL And since the greenhouse is empty, you can save on propane! 🙂
